sendmail .forward not working

I add my email address in $HOME/.forward file. But mail is not forwarded to my email address when I run sendmail to my user id on RedHat 8.0.
I have sendmail-8.12.5-7 rpm package.

It works on my RedHat 7.3.
Any idea?
Appreciate any help.

Hi,

Make sure only you have write permissions to your home directory and .forward file.
