sendmail in linux
How can I configure sendmail in my linux box so that I ( my_account@my_host ) can receive email from my PC's outlook or any other remote hosts?
Thanks,
Jane

Re: sendmail in linux
For client side you don't need sendmail running on your system.
If you want to pull email from mail servers (like Exchange server) then use Evolution. It is open source and has almost similar interface that of Outlook.

Re: sendmail in linux
I am doing this since I install majordomo in my linux box.
Currently, I tried a test by sending a outlook email to my unix account, and it is not showing up in my linux box. I understand this is default in linux, how to turn it on?

Re: sendmail in linux
Many exchange servers have web interfaces.
To correctly answer your question I would have to know a few things.
1) What kind of mail server is the mail on right now?
2) What methodology do you wish to use to forward your mail.
There are a few broad choices here. You could make your linux box the primary mail server for the organization, install dovecot or cyrus imap server and let your users keep all their mail on this box.
You could use this Linux box as a relay with various configuration changes in /etc/mail configuration files.
If you define the project, I can probably point you the right direction. Right now the query is too vague for me to assist further.
