Sles9 : downgrade from kernel 2.6 to 2.4

Hi all,
i have some "1 bilion dollars" question :
1) i would like to know if it's possible,
with sles9, change my current kernel
(it's 2.6.5-7.97-default) with kernel 2.4
(and what steps i have to do) ;
2)(then) with such configuration (sles9 with kernel 2.4), could Oracle 9i run ?

many thanx in advance
regards

Re: Sles9 : downgrade from kernel 2.6 to 2.4

Shalom,

1) If the OS shipped with 2.6 it will not work properly with 2.4. Many utilities and networking are tightly integrated with the kernel.

2) If such a thing was possible, Oracle would not be supported because it was not tested with the OS/kernel combination. It is doubtful the install program would let you install Oracle.
