Stop/Filter Junk mail.

In my system (LINUX Red Hat 9) sendmail and usermin for web-based mail are running ok & smoothly. But always huge amount of junk mail come to user’s mail account. How can I stop/filter Junk mail in my mail server.

Please any suggestion.

Re: Stop/Filter Junk mail.

Shalom,

Spamassassin does a wonderful job.

Use this /etc/procmailrc configuration

DROPPRIVS=yes

:0fw
| /usr/bin/spamc

MAILDIR=$HOME/mail

:0:
* ^X-Spam-Status: Yes

Its been suggested to tell spamassassin to ignore files of 256K or bigger. I have untested procmailrc code for that if you so request. If I don't answer the thread, see my contact form in my ITRC profile.
