Transferring E-Mail Accounts/Mailboxes from HP-UX to Linux

Hi there --

I am in the process of replacing our current e-mail server with a new one. The current server is SendMail 8.13.1 running on an HP-UX 10.20 trusted system. The new server will have Sendmail 8.13.4 running on SuSE Linux 10.0 that was 'hardened' by Bastille Linux.

I want to transfer the e-mail accounts from the old box to the new. My plan was to copy either via SFTP or restore from tape the /etc/mail/aliases file and all the mailboxes currently located in the /var/mail directory.

Is there something else I should do and/or is this the correct approach? Thanks.

If you have local email accounts only, probably this is what you have to do. But don't forget passwd and shadow files, and basic sendmail.cf/mc etc. I assume you are familiar with that.
