Try then to launch rdesktop passing the -D 16, to use 16 bits...

i read that TSclients supports only 8 bit colors but in Windows Server 2003 tsclients support upto 24bits color depth. It works with Windows PCs but I'm unable to get 16 bit on my Linux box & 1.2.0 is the latest version of Rdesktop.
So what should i do.

if 16 bits depth is a due in your configuration, you have no choice but upgrade to 2003... or access your server from a windows station, which works differently as far as RDP is concerned...
