up2date to download all available packages for RH AS 2.1

Looking for a way to download every and all package from RedHat Network for AS 2.1 to a local directory.

You can confgure up2date in the old days to keep copies.

Red Hat took away that option to force you to buy a subscription for every system.

Being properly licensed is a good thing.

During the up2date process right after download:

all the .rpm files will be in /var/spool/up2date

At that point you can make local copies and put them anywhere you want.

We are fully licensed and update our subscriptions yearly. We just want a way to patch from a NAS repository so we can control the rpms that are available at patch time. With 2.1 and up2date this is not possible as it is in 3.0.

And I am looking for a way to download evey 2.1 rpm and save them off to a directory.

As far as I remember, you can do it via rhn.redhat.com.
In fact, we prefer to stay with RHEL quarterly updated instead of "daily".
In this case we just dw ISO images of CDs with updates.
