update bcm5700 6.2.11a segmentation fault

dl360 G3, suse sles8 patch2
the update to network driver bcm5700 Version 6.2.11a does produce an segmentation fault:

/sbin/ifup: line 544: 379 Segmentation fault

i followed the instructions in README.TXT and DISTRIB.*

What's line 544 of the 'ifup' script say?
