Upper Paging Threshhold?

Several of our DL580s running Red Hat AS 2.1 are experiencing 100 or more page faults per second. This seems excessive, but, since these are my only experience with DL580s, I'm not sure what to expect. Does anyone have a recommended upper threshhold for page faults on a DL580?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Upper Paging Threshhold?

Page faults are not an issue. Its part of normal operations with virutal memory machines.

The question is are you paging? If you have a high page rate then you need more memory.

Check out the documentations at /usr/src/linux-2.4/Documentation/sysctl, especially vm.txt. I have a system like yours (DL580, AS 2.1), but I don't have the same problem with page faults. Well, hope this leads you to the right direction.
