VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00
hi to all, i have just installed Linux RHES3 upd.4 on any of my HP Blade20p G3.
All the installation process (via RDP and NFS) works well but at the end the system reboot and i got:
Kernel panic VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00
and the system hang.
I have try to make manual partioning with disk druid also leave linux to autoconfigure my hard disks (raid1 by smartarray).
But nothing after install system does not come up, any ideas? Thanks in advance for help

Re: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00
You need to append the correct root= label in lilo.conf ( or menu.lst (if grub)) and check /etc/fstab file to see if root mount point has the correct file system partition.

Re: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00
HP Servers require disk preparation priot to OS installation.
With older servers a CD came with them that you boot. You prepare storage, raid status and such and then are able to properly install the operating system.

Good Luck.
