what is the tips of making linux as a router other than firewall?

i have make linux as a firewall, however, i also want to make it act as a router, so as to route the internet access to my denoted server for servies, exp, ftp to my ftp.mydomain.com,mail to mail.mydomain.com,
in a word, i do not want to publish the servies on my firewall, but how to make it access to the only IP can route to the denoted server??

i know it must be complex, so i do not want details, but only the tips: what techque i should concern, as well as where can i get the documents resource?

You have use NAT (IP masquerading) in linux for that.
