What kind of CD player runs Linux?

I noticed reference to a CD player running Linux. I never heard of such a device. Does anyone know more about this?

Re: What kind of CD player runs Linux?

It is an HP "Digital Entertainment Center" DEC100c which never got marketed.

HP decided to skip audio only and wait for video, opting for Windoze XP Media center instead of Linux.

My wife and my mother think it is a plain CD player.
You know... Load & Play, Next/Prev, Remote.

But me and the kids know better.
Special signs: has a 'record' button, a 120GB hard drive, and pops up CD track info when playing :-)

I use it frequently for simple Linux test, and as a samba file server and it plays mp3's throughout the house using an apache web server.

Re: What kind of CD player runs Linux?

hp could make itself very popular if they would use MythTV instead of Windows Media Center as their software of choice. Myth might not be perfect yet, but they could help and certainly deliver something really great.
