what's the Linux counterpart of 'vis' in HPUX
hi all,
I found the vis and inv command in HPUX is quite useful, but they seemed to be proprietory to HP, is there any similar command in Linux?
thanks,
Gary

Re: what's the Linux counterpart of 'vis' in HPUX
For 'vis', 'cat -v' should be the equivalent.
As for 'inv', well, 'strings' would be the closest in my experience.
