I think you have to register

But there where some free version's there
in any case the best startting point.

You can download Oracle for Linux from Technet. However, last I looked only 8.1.7 is available in the old versions. The versions you are looking for are no longer supported, and I beleive have been withdrawn from circulation. Version 8.1.7 is in its sunset year.

These older versions are not supported any more. Some of them may not have been proted to Linux at all.

817 support is expiring partially at the end of the secular year.

The conversion from 8 to 9 is not very hard though. Just follow a two or three page procedure.
