why ping long package failed?

hi, expert,

       I have a oracle rac ( 2 box of D580 G7  redhat 5.5), as the  rac crashed servaral times, I  found ping long package fail on one box such as: ping -s 8192. the other box is ok,  what the  reason of this ,is sth wrong with the  network setting,  how to solve it ?
