Wiping Disks with HP-UX 10.20
Folks
I am trying to wipe all the disks on my k200 before I get rid of it.
So far I have removed all the volume groups except vg00 but when I try to overwrite the disks used by the other volume groups by using
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rdsk/c1t3d0 bs=1024k
I get an input read error.
Beforehand, I ran
mknod /dev/zero c 3 0x000004
Does anyone know where i'm going wrong or what else I need to do beforehand?
Regards
Michael

Re: Wiping Disks with HP-UX 10.20
Folks
It's OK. I was using the wrong Minor Number. I was using 4(which is for v11) instead of 3 for 10.20.

Re: Wiping Disks with HP-UX 10.20
If you install any OS, including all disks, say Linux using the disk druid, with the format option, all data on the disks will be erased.
I don't see the need for running any commands on the disks first.
