X not displaying correctly on RedHat 7.1 and LH4

I have installed RH 7.1 on a LH4 and when I get the GUI login screen it displays but is corrupted.
It looks like a memory, irq, or driver issue, but, I'm not sure.
I think the Video is a Cirrus Logic GD5446
But, if I use that the system reboots so I am using GD544x driver which seems to work but has the garbled display.
Has anyone had success with RH 7.1 and a LH4?
Thanks...

I, too, have had problems with the X-displays with various video cards. The solution I've been relegated to is to select the screen resolution/depth that works (test, test and re-test) and go with that.
Could your problem be with the monitor sync rate vice the video card per se? I had that problem also (cheap, used monitor with no documentation) and that gave me some amount of trouble as well -- display in two sections (sync on green vice sync on blue or sync rate not supported).
No experience with LH4, though, srry.

I have had problems with rh7.1 too on install.
With cirrus cards also. I could only get it going at 1024 with debian and suze.
RH7.1 also posed problems (even on install gui) with an ATI rage card.
Later,
Bill
