Re: X-win32 and gnome-terminal question on XW8000
gnome-terminal (and a lot of other apps) had problems with these kinds of setups in the 1.4.x releases. I'd urge you to upgrade your distro to something newer, or alternatively get a newer GNOME installed since 1.4.x is no longer maintained.
The latest is 2.2.x and 2.2.2 is about to be released this or next week.
More info at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.2/
(I'm actually maintaining the 2.2.x branch and I was maintaining the 1.4 branch for some time so I'm not just trying to herd you to the newest and greatest)
If you still have problems with this one please file bugs at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/
Cheers
Kjartan
