XDM remote access with Suse Linux 8.2

Hello,

i tried to configure xdm for remote login with Suse Linux 8.2, but i failed.

I applied the same configuration steps to Suse Linux 8.0, and succeeded.

This is the configuration:

/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager:
DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"
DISPLAYMANAGER_REMOTE_ACCESS="yes"
DISPLAYMANAGER_ROOT_LOGIN_REMOTE="yes"
DISPLAYMANAGER_STARTS_XSERVER="yes"
KDM_SHUTDOWN="auto"
KDM_USERS=""
KDM_GREETSTRING=""

in /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config i verified, that the following line is a comment:
! DisplayManager.requestPort: 0

When connecting to the server (using Cygwin: XWin -query SERVER) i get an empty x display)

Has anyone successfully managed xdm remote login with Suse 8.2? Were further configuration steps neccessary?

Best regards,
