ze5385 Lan-Express 802.11 driver for Redhat 9

Does any know of a driver for the integrated wireless card for the ze5385? I heard it's broadcom, and in other places it says it should be orinoco.

Given the Windows drivers hp posts on their web site I would say it is a Broadcom.

Thanks for the responses, but maybe I should refine my question. Has anyone gotten the wireless device to work under linux (particularly redhat 8/9)?

Some claims it is working.

I dont have such a beast myself But I did some searching on this and I found the following link that may help you along.

Re: ze5385 Lan-Express 802.11 driver for Redhat 9

Thanks! That link was an interesting read, and will definitely come in handy if I ever want to install debian. However, I somehow got it to work now.

in /etc/modules.conf, i added this line:

alias eth1 orinoco_pci

then, in the redhat-network-config I configured the device and it worked, even though it still looked like it was routing packets through eth0 (ethernet). But as long as ethernet was disabled, I was able to bring up the wireless with no problem.

The Lan-Express Card is an Intersil Prism2 based WLAN module. The linux prism2 support should work with it.
