Asus Motherboard question


Folks,

My father recently absent mindedly turned on his PC after lending me the heatsink from his CPU with predictable results.

The CPU and the Case PSU were destroyed.

My question is how likely is it that the motherboard was damaged as well? Is there a way to check for damage without him going out and purchasing another AMD to try it with?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

Sorry, but you better start looking for a new motherboard also.
If you try a new CPU, there's a very good chance it will also burn out.
