DL-585 and Windows 2008 SBS
I have a spare DL-585 (standard server as far as I know, not a G2 etc). When I try and install Windows 2008 SBS on it I get a blue screen message that multi processor configurations are not supported.
As far as I can tell the most current BIOS revision is installed. Searching this site I see much mention of the G2 servers supporting Win2008 but no mention of the standard ones.
Can anyone give me a definitive answer?

Re: DL-585 and Windows 2008 SBS
We have found the answer:
Hi,
I had the same problem.
The solution for my problem was:
-Boot
-Push "F9" to enter BIOS
-"Advanced Options" > "Linux x86_64 HPET Option"
-Disable this Option
-Safe the BIOS Changes (ESC, ESC, F10)
Description of "Linux x86_64 HPET Option"-BIOS entry:
This option modifies the IRQ routing for the HPET Timer to work-around an OS issue that may result in a kernel panic during boot in certain Linux x86_64 (64-bit) OSes.
The following supported OSes are affected:
-RHEL4 u3 x86_64
-RHEL4 u4 x86_64
-SLES9 sp3 x86_64
HP has worked with Linux providers to address this issue in future revisions of these OSes.
As it seems, this option is relevant for W2K8 too...
