DL360 Gen 10 Plus. Unidentified Network

Hello,

I just installed MS Win2022 server on two new DL360 Plus Servers but the NIC card is not able to get the IP address from the router  ( I also tried a static IP) . The NIC start to "Identifying..." the network and after  "Unidentified netowork" with no connectivty.
I installed new drivers (the NIC are Broadcom NetXtreme E-Seres) with no errors and the NIC seems working properly. I have this issue on both servers.
I tried to plug a laptop to the same lan cable and it able to get the ip address with no issue.

Need help to fix it. Thank you

Hi,

This has to be rectified by your Network Admin or System Admin.
As these are new servers, may be they need to configure them to join the Domain or Active Directory, etc.

Thank You!

Re: DL360 Gen 10 Plus. Unidentified Network

Hi,

before joint into domain the servers need to be able to see the network. Also a server can be stand-alone and not part of the domain.
I'm the System Admin and I never got this issue with the old servers DL360 Gen 9 I configfured.
It seems the problem is the configuration of the NIC cards but I don't understand what is wrong.
Thank you

Re: DL360 Gen 10 Plus. Unidentified Network

Hi,

Lets do the basic check, are these add-on cards, if Yes, have you installed them in correct slots?
Please refer to the server QuickSpecs, page# 53.
How about the cables, are they compatible with these network cards?

If still unable to fix, please contact HPE Support for help.

Thank You!

Re: DL360 Gen 10 Plus. Unidentified Network

@Suman_1978

-The NIC cards are :
Broadcom BCM57416 Ethernet 10Gb 2-port BASE-T OCP3 Adapter for HPE
Part #: P10097-B21  ( refer to the server QuickSpecs, page# 54 ) .
-The two servers are P28948-B21. I don't think is an harware issue because I have the problem on both servers.

The company provided the entire system already assembled, then the cards was already installed in the PCIE slot.
Do you hame more test I can do before call HP ?
Thank you

Eddy

Re: DL360 Gen 10 Plus. Unidentified Network

The NIC card installed are 1Gb and they can't transmit lower than 1Gb. I
have to change my switch to work with 1 GB.

Re: DL360 Gen 10 Plus. Unidentified Network

Connect the server to a gigabit switch otherwise it doesn't work.
Only the ILO port works with another speed. For the installation with intelligent provisioning I had to use an iso file that the server provider gave me because the microsoft iso indicated that it could not find the license (windows in my case). If you want to install windows server with the Microsoft iso, create a pen drive with rufus and also add the iso to the root of the pen drive. When the installation fails, in the DOS window go to the pen drive and run setup.exe from the pen drive.
