no com port or modem shown in windows xp on my pavilion ze1210
My pavilion ze1210 shows no modem or com ports under the device manager when running in xp. Is there an xp driver i need to install or is there something i need to do to find/activate the com port or modem?

Should be an icon under Start/Settings for ports. See if you can go into it and add Com1.
Odd that it didn't find it at the start. Perhaps something in cmos setup has turned it off. Trying pressing F2 or F10 during a boot and see if you can get into setup to check.

I checked on HP's downloads page, and there wasn't an update for the BIOS.
There were a few other useful updates though.
