						A POWERON PASSWORD HAS BEEN SET ON A COMPUTER I HAVE, COMPAQ PRESARIO 5123, AND I CAN'T GET AROUND IT. I'M TRYING TO RESTORE THE PC TO FACTORY IMAGE. I HAVE ALL THE DISKS BUT CAN'T GET BUY THIS POWERON PASSWORD.

follow the procedures:

in your case the battery doesn't need to be replaced, simply take it out, wait 1 minute and return it back. This will reset the configuration and you will be able to complete POST
