PRESARIO R3240US / DVD BURNER PROBLEM
Hello everyone
I have a COMPAQ PRESARIO R3240US and the DVD burner doesn't work at all.
I can read and burn CDs, and read DVD from other sources, movies, etc.
The only thing I can't do is to burn my own DVDs.
I need help to solve this issue because HP support gave me the same solutions over and over again, but nothing happens.
HEEEELP !!!

Re: PRESARIO R3240US / DVD BURNER PROBLEM
We have 3 of these R3240US. I have been able to burn a DVD using Nero 6 at lowest speed setting. I do know the software provided with these notebooks was worthless, especially the packet software.
What program are you using to burn DVDs with? This may be just an issue of selecting DVD as the media source. I know in Nero you can select to use CDR or DVDR. When you select new you have an option to choose CD or DVD. This may be similar in that you have to manually select DVD to burn.

Try to upgrade the firmware of the DVD burner.
In the compaq support site you find the upgrade.
