I have a Dell Dimensions XPS-T500 running Windows NT 4.0 SP5, My problems is I
can not get the software to detect the scanner no matter what i try, I tried
the Scandesk II from the original CD and the new 2.8 version from the HP web
site and for the scsi card SYM20402,i checked the DEll web site with no luck,
please help.

Try unstalling the scanning software then reinstalling it without the scanner connected to the power outlet and the PC.

Reboot with the scanner connected to the power outlet and the PC.
