Re: A new hat for Jan van den Ende!

Congratulations and enjoy the dunes. It's a dry place so plenty of beer is needed. I know that's not a problem :-)

I'm surprised to see this thread in HP-UX land when you spend most of your time in the forum dedicated to the finest operating system in the world - VMS !

Congrats Jan!

Now you're in a land where they know, how to party :-)) Proost.

It seems like you're well trained ;-) also the glasses seem to be small than here in Munich.

Best wishes

Re: A new hat for Jan van den Ende!

So,

time for some replies.

Clay:
maybe ugly, but I will wash it regularly, so it will at least be clean.

SEP:
Follow the trail? Wait till I have passed, it will look like a highway!

Victor:
You think so? Wait till I begin about chemistry, or languages, or bridge, or SF, or ..

Merijn:
REAL good party! Better refill your supply of Weizenbier, Duvel, and Tripel, because I think I make a real hole in those (I will try some other beer brands next time, if I am still welcome after what I just did to your stock)

DCE:
I 'd better enjoy it, because at current speed it will take several years.

JRF:
with even more pride than the starry pointy hat and the crown!

Pete:
did Merijn throw a party, or what? But "in no time" to the mountain? I like some optimism, but it does not hurt to add some realism.

John:
at least they are quiet (as a matter fact, REAL quiet!)

Geoff, HGN,
Thanks

Robert-Jan:
volgens mij zijn die stelten gelukt (totdat een paar gasten zover heen waren dat ze eraf vielen)

Andrew, Indira, Allan, Arun, Amit,
Thanks

Michael:
You got it!
Actually I prefer my beers from barrel or bottle. But those also recycle.

Asif, Mark, Ninad,
Thanks

Vladimis:
Yes, that is where my heart lies.
"When downtime is NOT an option, NOTHING but VMS" !

Alexander,
Actually, Heineken is not really my favorite (see my answer to Merijn)

Raj,
Thanks

Wim,
That is also what I expected. But then you or anyone else in VMS should have beaten Torsten to it!

Kalle,
I intend to.

Ian.
I have already been looking for Sam Adams, but I think that will have to wait for next bootcamp

John, Peter, Robert
Thanks

Duncan
see Victor above :-)
A meeting might be at next bootcamp, or sooner if you come to the Dutch TUD in october.

Kris,
"almost", but you didn't!
And that drink is a deal!
(nb voor alle Hollanders en Vlamingen, de TUD is geintegreerd HP DutchWorld, dus...)

Volkmar,
I just spent 2 1/2 weeks in Germany. (near Moenchen-Gladbach). The weather was such that there was no need to move south!
The cantina at the camping served (hefe-)Weizenbier during the football matches. We drained the entire stock. The only problem now is to get used again to those ridiculously small beer glasses in the Netherlands!

Robert,
it was a pleasure

Hein
Ik heb je RMStune uitgebreid ingezet vandaag. Ik hoop tzt ook de resultaten te kunnen melden.

Sekar
So at least someone liked it! (you are probably not a real M$ fan then)

Plilip
trying..

Darrel
enjoy the castle while you can. It sure is more cosy than a pyramid!

Torsten, I did already get points.

Proost.

Have one on me.

Hi Jan,

congrats from Belgium.

Ik wil je ook even feliciteren omdat ik je 1 van de meest 'social' mensen in het forum vind. Naast je technische uitleg slaag je er ook altijd in een 'goede sfeer' te creeren.
