acces to a database on a windows system from vms 6.2

acces to a database on a windows system from vms 6.2

Hello,

I have to develop a transfert of data between a AXP VMS 6.2 (RDB 5.1) and a PC (Windows XP).
On the PC, the software use a Database (compatible with SQL but i don't known more).
is-it possible to acces, from the AXP, directly to the PC database ?

is-it possible with SQL/server ?

The solution of files transfert with FTP is not adapted for our situation.

I know it is possible in the reverse situaton : we have 1 PC which write and read into a rdb 5.1 database.

Thanks.

Hi Stephane,

The ODBC driver for MS Windows should allow you bi-directional access between databases on the windows system and your Rdb 5.1 system.

The SPD can be found here.....

I belive that the driver shipped with the Rdb 5.1 development kit.

Perhaps also Attunity, Connx or Trifox could help you.

There is a vms port of the FreeTDS library that can be used to access a SQL/Server database.
