Advanced Server 7.3A in AD domain - %PWRK-E-DCNOTFND

I encountered a strange behaviour on a client's system...

OpenVMS V7.3-2 (2 node cluster)
Advanced Server V7.3A ECO 4 with a few post-ECO4 patch images, namely
PWRK$LMSRV - V73A41000325483

The cluster is configured as a member server in a Windows 2003 domain.

Occasionally, $ ADMIN commands time out with
%PWRK-E-DCNOTFND, cannot find Primary Domain Controller for "MYDOMAIN"
-PWRK-W-NODOMOPRPOS, domain-wide operations are not possible

A few minutes, sometimes a few hours later everything works normal again.

The most confusing situation is the following one:

$ admin show computer /type=primary
%PWRK-E-DCNOTFND, cannot find Primary Domain Controller for "MYDOMAIN"
-PWRK-W-NODOMOPRPOS, domain-wide operations are not possible

Computers in domain "MYDOMAIN":

Computer Type Description
-------------------- --------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[PD] XXYYDC01 Windows NT 5.2 Primary

Total of 1 computer

$

Between two of the above commands (with identical results), I can issue

$ nbshow knbstatus MYDOMAIN 1b

and receive the requested details of the PDC emulator XXYYDC01.

So I doubt it is a network/connectivity problem.

Any idea what's happening here? I scanned the V7.3B release notes but did not find anything indicating that this problem has already been fixed.

Thanks for your help,
Hans.

Thanks for sharing the V7.3B PS 5 release notes.

Unfortunately, I don't see anything obviously related to the original problem :-(

If someone knows better, please speak up :-)

Thanks & regards,
Hans.
