Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
Also on the output of the CLUE SCSI/SUMMARY command the width of the type field should be expanded. The MSA1000 is showing up as MSA100.
Thanks

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
not on our systems!
%RMS-E_FNF, file not found CLUE$HELP.HLB.
and there really is NO file call CLUE$HELP
anywhere online.
VMS 7.3-2, patches up to early nov 2004
Did we miss something, do you need an extra install, anything else?
Proost.
Have one on me.

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
But I tried in on an OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H3 system and it works there.

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
CLUE HELP has been integrated into SDA HELP. For some reason, the help text for CLUE SCSI has been lost/omitted/forgotten...

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
our system EVOLVED from 6.1-1H? via 6.2-1H? etc to the current 7.3-2.
If it ever was 6.2-1H, does this mean the file was REMOVED, or was it added later to 6.2, and NOT to 7.x?
Somehow it does not look consistent to me...

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
it is my understanding that an operating system upgrade will delete the old version, first. See attachment.

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
It's help file has been integrated into SDA HELP some time ago (around V7.3 time frame). The help text for CLUE SCSI has probably been lost at that time. Whether by accident or not - only HP can tell.
The separate CLUE help library is not provided anymore - and would have been removed by an operating system upgrade, as Uwe has shown.

That is true for systems upgraded to V7.3. Some of our systems (V7.1-2, V7.2-2) still have the CLUE$HELP.HLB.
So Jan, maybe you can get it back from an old backup?

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
CLUE SCSI was NEVER documented in the SDA manual anyway (even for V7.1).
Feel free to log a call with HP to ask for the SDA> HELP CLUE SCSI text to be included in a future version...
In the mean time, use the link provided earlier or some of your old OpenVMS systems.

Re: Any documentation for CLUE SCSI
you're right. The 'now undocumented' old commands still work:
HELP CLUE logicals describes some of the standard CLUE$* logicals.
CLUE DEBUG shows versions and activated images in current CLUE$SDA session (for troubleshooting CLUE problems).
CLUE KPB/ADDRESS=n formats a KPB (Kernel Process Block) - if you know how to find one ;-)
And here are the qualifiers for CLUE SCSI
/CONNECTION=n /PORT[=n]
/REQUEST=n /SUMMARY /TARGET=n
(n is a virtual address of an appropriate data structure: SCDT, SPDT, SCDRP, STDT).
