bl8x0c I2 Machine check advisory.
Recently HP issued a Critical Alert for bl8x0c I2 blades (Advisory c02907262), see below:
HP has become aware of a very rare condition where HP Integrity Superdome 2, HP Integrity Blade System BL860c i2, BL870c i2, BL890c i2, and rx2800 i2 Servers running HP-UX may fail with a Machine Check Abort (MCA).
HP-UX: HP Integrity Platform servers with Itanium 93xx processors: Superdome 2, Blade System BL860c i2, BL870c i2, BL890c i2, rx2800 i2, and HPVM (Virtual Machines) host. HPVM guests are not affected.
NonStop: Limited exposure and will be addressed separately at a later date.
OpenVMS: Limited exposure and will be addressed separately at a later date.
Note: does anyone know if this final line has been addressed yet.
Dave.

Re: bl8x0c I2 Machine check advisory.
If you want offical answers then use offical channels but I've not seen a update since that advisory.

Re: bl8x0c I2 Machine check advisory.
We have OpenVMS on rx2800 i2 machine and OpenVMS 8.4
question: are we at risk to be affected too?
if yes under which conditions will this most likely happen?
