Can't Install COBOL 2.8 under OpenVMS 8.2

Dear All,
I submitted before two monthes a case with a title "UNDFSYMS, Undefined symbol while linking COBOL Prog."
In fact its urgent because customer need this to be performed as soon as posible.
My question is:
I didn't have a clear sys$library:starlet.olb to extract the module from it and apply it on the current library what I have to do ?????.
Now I cant return back to the old situation and I cant install the new version.
Please I need your advice

Since you have not received a solution in the last
two months from all the volunteers who frequent
this forum, and the problem is now apparently
"urgent", then dare I suggest that you log a call
with your local HP support centre and pay to have
this "urgent" problem resolved...
I am assuming that you are asking here because
you do not have a support contract?

Thanks for your polite reply, and I thought that you will help not to say such commints.
In fact this server will be online next week so its urgent now for me.
About the support contract I have but from my experience its worth to submit such problems using ITRC forums to share information with all.
So Please if any one have any solution provide it to me and it will be appreciated in advance.

Mahmooud,

1) I saw your closed thread before seeing this new thread. Just continueing there woudl have worked fine and given us better context. At the very least provide a backlink?

2) Did you submit the problem to support? What was the outcome?

3) You talk about 1 missing symbol.. why keep us in suspense? Just mention it please?
At first I could not 'see' the symbol as it was hidden in a .DOC file. Next I could not cut/paste it because it was a picture, not text. :-(. DCOB$IMAGE_INIT

Anyway...

You are NOT supposed to install a COBRTL kit on Alpha 7.3-2 and higher.
If you did, then please restore SYS$LIBRARY:STARLET.OLB.
If for some reason you can not replace that, then find yourself an 'untouched' STARLET, extract module COB_IMAGE_INIT and replace that in the target starlet.

note that you can also find an 'untouched' STARLET.OLB on your appropriate OpenVMS Alpha operating system CD.
