CORRUPTED xlsx FILE WHEN DELIVERED WITH MAIL/MIME
Hi
I am running VMS 8.4 on an Integrity Server.
We utilise the MAIL application and send via an SMTP server.
I have set up the MIME$FILETYPES.DAT to allow the delivery of PDF,XLS,DOC attachments
All these work well
However sending XLSX extensions does not work - We get "corrupt" file when attempting to open on the received email.
The MIME$FILETYPES.DAT looks like this
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# JPG
jpg, image/jpg, Base64
jpeg, image/jpeg, Base64
#
#
# CDA Viewer
ps, application/ps, Base64
ddif, application/ddif, Base64
#
# PDF
pdf, application/pdf, Base64
#
# For PC applications we don't have
# ---------------------------------
doc, application/msword, Base64
xls, application/xls, Base64
ppt, application/ppt, Base64
zip, application/zip, Base64
xlsx, application/xlsx, Base64
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
any help please would be greatly received!
thanks

Re: CORRUPTED xlsx FILE WHEN DELIVERED WITH MAIL/MIME
i know that the problem lies with the way that the XLSX is setup in the MIME FILE
MIME$FILETYPES.DAT
doc, application/msword, Base64
xls, application/xls, Base64
ppt, application/ppt, Base64
zip, application/zip, Base64
the DOC,XLS,PPT & ZIP attachments in MAIL work correctly
the XLSX does not due to me obviously using the wrong MIME type File
xlsx, application/xlsx, Base64
there must be a file type for XLSX in MIME - cant find this anywhere on the web

Re: CORRUPTED xlsx FILE WHEN DELIVERED WITH MAIL/MIME
Robert,
try googling for 'MIME.TYPES .XSLX' ...
After reading a couple of pages, this led me to:
Register the 2007 Office system file format MIME types on servers
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee309278%28office.12%29.aspx
HTH,
Volker.
