I ran net$configure to set up the naming information, but I dont think I set it up correctly.
I don't remember exactly what I entered for the "Local" directory services, however when I do a "set host" to another node, and subsequently end that session, I get:-
XXXXXXX logged out at 1-OCT-2008 09:22:51.22
%REM-S-END, control returned to node LOCAL:.DAT::
TABTST>>
Where TABTST is my local phase V node. not "LOCAL:.DAT::"
What did I do wrong here??
What should I have entered at the Directory Services prompt??
Dave

Re: DECNet Phase V question.
ALP $ lo
SYSTEM logged out at 1-OCT-2008 08:39:49.89
%REM-S-END, control returned to node LOCAL:.ALP::
alp $
"LOCAL" is fine, but I'd guess that when
someone asked for the name of your system,
you said "DAT".
I'd need to read something to find out where
to fix it. (Perhaps another pass through the
configure procedure would be easier.)

I'll try that.

Re: DECNet Phase V question.
There is a rename node item under NCL so I was able to do it there.
Thanks
Dave.

Re: DECNet Phase V question.
And also check the SCSNODE system parameter: it should be the same as the name alias in the local database, in Your case TABTST.

Re: DECNet Phase V question.
an "ncl rename new name local:.xyz" will only change the name cache entry, does nothing in the local name database.
A "change naming information" does it.
So again check in decnet_register node synonym and node address against sysgen parameters.
