Can i know how to modify a settings about resolution or frequency of disply card on OpenVMS

On which machine ? On a AS500 it's a switch inside on the graphics card.

There are a couple of boxes where the graphics controllers are built in; systems where the graphics controllers are integrated onto the base system and can't be changed. On (most) boxes, it's a feature of the specific graphics controller.

Put another way, please identify the graphics controller, the specific host system, and the operating system version. From that, we can tell you how to adjust this stuff.

Depending on the graphics hardware, this adjustment can be a hardware switch or dial or such (and that is specific to the model of controller), or (for the soft-loaded graphics controllers) it can involve setting up and editing the decw$private_server_setup or related. The details can (and do) vary, as do the supported resolutions.

Thank you for the answers. The system is an AS255 233 vhith OVMS 6.2-1H3, the graphic card is digital on bus PCI.
The real problem that i have, is about a monitor to change for break, but some VGA standard monitor go in fault for settings out of tolerance when start DECWindows, before i can read all boot messages. How can adjust that settings?

There are dozens of different DIGITAL-branded PCI cards around that provide graphics capabilities. If you want to go further with that discussion, you're going to have to post the card name, the card part number or (from the SRM console) the PCI device id and the SRM PCI card name, or post up a photo of the card itself.

The article I referenced earlier includes information on adapters and on using LCD panels with these older PCI graphics controllers. (This is very dependent on the graphics widget and the LCD; some work, and some show display artifact.) Various adapters are commercially available, and the ICs and wiring schematics are also available via that article if somebody close by is handy with a soldering iron.)

For the stated "see the boot messages" requirement, use of a terminal or terminal emulator or console application is the easiest. That's based on serial console output and (if you're not using the graphics display) is the easiest approach:

The AlphaStation 255 4/233 series has console I/O connections and set-up entirely similar to the AlphaServer DS20e referenced in the article.
