Could anyone tell me where i can get more explanation on the following files in each disks?
Directory DISK$PATCH:[000000]
BACKUP.SYS;1 BADBLK.SYS;1 BADLOG.SYS;1 BITMAP.SYS;1
CONTIN.SYS;1 CORIMG.SYS;1 DKA100.SYS;1 INDEXF.SYS;1
SECURITY.SYS;1 VOLSET.SYS;1

.. and I guess you can confirm Ian's statement by looking
DIR DISK$PATCH:[000000]*.SYS /DATE
I expect all to reflect the disk INIT time, except DKA100.
How big is that file? If > 0 then
Can you TYPE it ? (guess not)
Does DUMP show anything recognisable?
(I have seen BACKUP savesets from other disks/systems named similarly, but that is a VERY wild guess!)
More info MIGHT lead to more precise answers (but that is not a promise!)

Most of those files belong to OpenVMS and should be left alone. If you want to know the details of what they're for, find a copy of "Vms File System Internals" by Kirby McCoy.
