Distributed NetBeans 5.0 FT2 client running in Windows and Linux

I have 2 problems running NetBeans client in Vista and Linux boxes.

Problem 1. In Vista box, I select "New OpenVMS 3GL Application" project. In step 3 "Remote IDE Server Chooser", where is the "Runtime Tab" to find Remote IDE Server? All the fields are protected. I cannot enter my OpenVMS IDE server. NetBeans release is 5.5.1 which I have just downloaded from www.netbeans.org.

Problem 2. In Fedora Linux box there is no "OpenVMS Remote Applications" category in "Choose Project" window. I expect the same window as if running in Vista.

Any idea/suggestion?

Thanks,
Barney Kwok

Hi Barney,

I have used Dist NB FT2 client on Windows Vista and have not seen the problem you are describing.

Are you saying that the Runtime tab is missing? If so, go to the "Windows" menu in the IDE and select "Runtime" to enable it. Or maybe your problem is somehow different. A screenshot might help me diagnose what's going on.

As for Fedora Linux, it should work, although we've only tested on Red Hat. We'll put it on the list to look at when we get some time.

Vista platform: I found the answer by download the on-line help for IDE client.
