DS25 - OS Upgrade

Have enterprise app running on DS10 with OVMS 7.2-1. Have tested successfully restoring sys drive from DS10 to a DS15 and then upgrading to 7.3. Have since purchased a DS25. Wondered if I can use the same procedure on the DS25 to load 7.2-1 and then upgrade to 7.3-1 (which I understand is min os for ds25)? Thanks

welcome to the OpenVMS ITRC forum.

While you cannot boot V7.2-1 on the DS25, you should be able to boot from the OpenVMS V7.3-1 Operating system CD and upgrade your V7.2-1 system disk directly to V7.3-1 on the DS25.

If you need to upgrade antway, why not go directly to a supported version, which would be 7.3-2 ?
Gains in performance & functionality is all you risk getting...

I may do that. The enterprise app is no longer supported and I know it works with 7.3-1 so I want to keep my risk to a minimum. Since I will be doing the upgrade offline, 7.3-2 may be a possible.
