Error in Simh

When i try to boot a cdrom.iso image in Simh i get the following error

SAME HAPPENS IN CHARON-VAX DEMO VERSION WITH PHYSICAL CDROM OR CDROM IMAGES. nOTE THE SUBJECT CD IS BOOTABLE IN VAXSTATION 4000/900

are you trying to boot the VAXELN V4.6 CD as described in your recent entry in the Stromasys User Forum:

Does this version of VAXELN support the VAX system emulated by simh or CHARON-VAX ?

Post your full INI file.

You'll also want to describe exactly how the binary disk image was created; there are many ways to do that, and various wrong ways.

What are you booting? Some version of VMS? Or something else?

That this is Windows, or some other simh platform.

And if it is VAX ELN, those images can be built with all manner of specific configuration and specific hardware requirements.

CHARON-VAX/XM now emulates a VAXstation 4000-90:

If you want a "older" VAX, CHARON-VAX can also emulate a MicroVAX II and other fairly-ancient models.

If you're running VAXeln and are wedded to specific hardware, you might be disappointed in any emulator...
