Export Decwindows environment to Vax station or PC

Hi.
I have a Vax 4100 with serial console on VT320, the Vax runs OpenVMS V6.2 with Decwindows installed by default with VMS. I would like to export the Decwindows environment to a Vax Station with graphic terminal or a PC.
I can export some applications as Clock, Calendar... to remote system with command SET DISPLAY/ CREATE/ TRANSPORT=Decnet /Host="Remote Host". But
can i export the hold environment Decwindows and use it on remote station as i works on a local graphic terminal ?

Thanks

That sounds like you are looking for something like a Windows Terminal Server or VNC server session where an entire screen is redirected, not just an application. Last time I checked the VNC viewer (client) was ported to OpenVMS, but not the server (due to some missing functionality in Motif).

VNC (Virtual Network Computing) came from a research department of AT&T.

Hi ,

Yes. To create entire workstation on you PC, run the following command after set display/creat :

$run sys$system:DECW$STARTLOGIN.EXE

HTH,

Hi, I was looking for the same thing, I got it working, but I get popup screens "Cant find font ...." when starting DECterms with , etc features. I guess I have to enable or download something on my PC but what and how?

Thnx
