Have you tried to power off and replug the cables for your tape drive and then follow it up with SYSMAN IO AUTO ?

check WWIDpaths in the sys$system:sys$devices.dat. You can rename this and try MC SYSMAN IO FIND and IO AUTO.

I am able to see the drives now. Doing a mcr sysman io find_wwid worked. Thanks for your help everyone.
