FTP between VMS and Unix/linux
Unix server is just a snap (NAS) server.
With VMS 7.2-1 UCX 5.0A ECO 1 or VMS 7.3-1 UCX 5.3 ECO2 I have the same result.
TCPIP-E-FTP_DATACONF, cannot establish data connection with remote host
-SYSTEM-F-REJECT, connect to network object rejected
If I used VMS ftp client, it's the same thing but if I used Madgoat FTP client it works!!!
I passed through a firewall but ftp is authorized (works with madgoat between them).
No space in password, I have tried with passive mode and notruvms params but nothing works.
If someone knows...thanks
best regards

Re: FTP between VMS and Unix/linux
ECO M 2-MAY-2003 Alpha and VAX
Problem:
FTP> connect host 10021 (non-standard server port) can result in
rejection of data connections from server:
%TCPIP-E-FTP_DATACONF, cannot establish data connection with
remote host
-SYSTEM-F-REJECT, connect to network object rejected
Connecting using the FTP command line, using passive-mode
transfers, or setting the TCPIP$FTP_ALLOW_PORT_REDIRECT logical
all avoid the problem.
Deliverables:
TCPIP$FTP_CLIENT.EXE V5.3-18M
Reference:
PTR 70-5-2296 / CFS.99537 / Req Id: HPAQH08XR / UCX Note 9756

Re: FTP between VMS and Unix/linux
If youre in FTP, give
FTP> SET PASSIVE ON
This should do the trick. Ik know it started somewhere in an IP version.
$ COPY/FTP/PASSIVE=ON ....
etc
