Hi, Pls I want to know the instruction to turn on the transfer files between open vms servers and pc client by using reflection's Alphalk2
This feature was working correctly but since last week it stopped. Could you tell me more info about this protocol (#port, command to start or restart, etc) On the system, the logical alphalk2 is registered:
"ALPHALK2" = "SYS$SYSROOT:[SYSMGR]ALPHALK2.EXE" (LNM$SYSTEM_TABLE)
The ftp protocol (port 21) is working right with no problem. Pls, help me with this topic
Thanks,
Eduardo

Solution
Check with the vendor: http://www.attachmate.com/
There are downloads here:
https://download.attachmate.com/Upgrades/SearchResults.aspx?q=vms
There's a VAXLINK2 tool from this decade at the above link, too.
Attachmate docs:
http://support.attachmate.com/techdocs/1475.html
http://docs.attachmate.com/reflection/14.0/r14sag.pdf
Or see this newsgroup thread:
http://unix.derkeiler.com/Newsgroups/comp.os.vms/2004-09/1106.html
As for why this is failing, you'll need to have a look around for whatever log files this stuff uses (on the Windows box and on OpenVMS), and whatever errors are arising.
If you want file transfer via ftp or sftp on your Windows box, then the easiest solution can be to load and use FileZilla here. I'd probably also replace the Reflections terminal client with PuTTY. They're both free, and they work.
The local organization moved off of Microsoft Windows some years ago and I have little recent experience with Windows boxes; the above answer to your Microsoft Windows software question might well be badly off.
Reposting this; porque esto es ITRC.

Re: How to turn on Alphalk2 transfer on OpenVMS
You didn't specify which version of VMS you are running. On my V7.3-x machines, the VAXLINK prpogram is the one that is executed for transfers.

Re: How to turn on Alphalk2 transfer on OpenVMS
Thanks to all for your ideas and websites.
I got to execute and analyze the file
"alphalk2.exe" on the VMS. This archive were corrupted. I copied a new file from other vms server and the service started sucessfully. My server is running under OpenVMS 7.3-1
The following steps were describe on: http://support.attachmate.com/techdocs/1210.html
gracias nuevamente, hasta pronto.
