I have a rx2600 that has two disks. One disk has hpux and on the other I would like to install ovms 7.3.
Anybody has done something similar. Is there any special trick ? Do you know where I can get some procedure to achieve this install. I believe you cannot have both oses running at the same time; but I will be happy if I can have hpux and shutdown boot out of efi into ovms. thank you all for your help.

Re: install OVMS on ia64.
me again..., of course I didn't solve , yet!
when I boot from the cd using efi:/fs0:/boot with bootia64 I receive the following messages:
BUG CHECK ****
Bugcheck code 000019D INCONSTATE, inconsistent I/O database
crash cpu:00 primary cpu: 00
Activte cpus: 0001
No current process defined in cpu db...
and then goes and reboot all over again.
I did check my firmware:
and from MP > sysrev
MP FW E.02.10
BMC FW: 01.30
EFI FW: 01.22
System FW: 01.61
do I need to upgrade the firmware ? the release notes says 2.10 (I have some 2.10 by I do not know which one supposed to be the dam#%$#$# 2.10).
oh, yes. I do not have hp support. We are in budget constraints. ... and am using you guys as my gurus. thank you in advance.
Thank you Dale, Martin, and Age .

The release notes state (on page 13) that the minimum required system and MP console firmware versions are both 2.20. There you'll also find instructions on where to get the updates.

Re: install OVMS on ia64.
yup, you do need a higher FW revision. This should be available via
http://www.hp.com/support/itaniumservers
As far as I can tell current versions are 2.29 and E2.31.
Greetings, Martin
