Installation of T4 Kit on OpenVMS 8.2 Requires Patch VMS82A_PCSI_V0100
A cautionary note to those running OpenVMS 8.2 and attempting to install the T4 toolkit.
Installing the kit on an unpatched 8.2 system appears to produce errors. Installing patch VMS82A_PCSI-V0100 appears to remove the problem.
I am not posting this for comment, unless someone has some better information. I am posting it so that the problem is noted in the ITRC forum for those searching for it.
A suggestion to those maintaining the T4 www pages, this requirement should be documented (perhaps along with a hotlink to the patch).

Bob,
could you post the actual error messages seen ? This would certainly help people searching for the symptoms of this problem.
Thanks,
Volker.

Re: Installation of T4 Kit on OpenVMS 8.2 Requires Patch VMS82A_PCSI_V0100
Volker,
Regrettably, I they ended up scrolling off of my screen window. I was in a hurry to resolve the client problem and did not re-run the installation in a sub-process to capture the output.
The messages referred to an illegal record length. This symptom had the appearance of a file corrupted enroute, until I quickly realized that the file had been delivered as a ZIP archive, with a correct CRC-32, which makes a corruption highly unlikely).
