http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/svctools/decevent/
Unfortunatly the dowload link (ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/svctools/md5sum.axp_exe) leads to an invalid openvms alpha image:
$ run md5sum.axp_exe
%DCL-W-ACTIMAGE, error activating image MD5SUM.AXP_EXE
-CLI-E-IMGNAME, image file DEV:[DIR]MD5SUM.AXP_EXE;2
-IMGACT-F-NOTNATIVE, image is not an OpenVMS Alpha image
Any clue?

Re: looking for md5sum fon openvms alpha
Yes, the file transfer mung`ed the file format. FDL or Set File/Attributes may help.
Try this...
$ Set File /Attributes = (rfm = Fix, lrl = 512, rat = None) md5sum.axp_exe
Enjoy,
--Jeff

Re: looking for md5sum fon openvms alpha
- I have checked that the file has been transferred in binary mode
- rms attributes (rfm = Fix, lrl = 512, rat = None) were already correct (OpenVMS ftp client binary mode use those)
- the alternate download page points to the same download link

SolutionIt contain the message "This program cannot be run in DOS mode" in the first block and "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" somewhere towards the end. However, it can also not be run on a W2000 PC -> md5sum.exe is valid, but for a machine type other than the current machine.

Re: looking for md5sum fon openvms alpha
I do not think so.
CHECKSUM works fine for me, but I have not the faintest idea what md5 is/should do.
Proost.
Have one on me.
