mainframe vax cobol migration to oracle ?

is there any course or training availble to go for such a migration ??

I'm not aware of any courses specific to your proposed migration path. Since COBOL is a compiler and Oracle is a DBMS, it's not entirely clear what you mean.

If the COBOL code doesn't already use a relational data base, then I think what you're talking about would more accurately be described as a "complete reimplementation".

thanx ... wat i mean is the conversion from COBOL to ORACLE .... the problem with reimplementation is that its seems one will lose the history of records/data ... to be made available in the reimplemented form. to make it clear, let me tell u that i am working for an Electricity supply company .... i need time to time to prepare reports regarding certain conumers concerning their preverious, say, 12 month consumption etc.

As the issues are many and various then I would recommend getting some consultancy to look at the whole picture.
