Meaning of high Buffer or I/O waits value

Hi,

 

I did a dev /full on a socket and it showed a large value on the receive side of the Buffer or I/O waits.

What does it mean? What would cause this problem?

What makes you think it's a problem?  Is there any reason why it couldn't be an incoming network socket that does wait for messages?
