So head's up to Dirk, author of said thread :-)
... according to the release notes, It's fixed in AXP_DNVOSIECO03-V731 (ECO 3 kit) posted on HP's web site 06-JAN-2005. There's no 7.2-2 kit and I guess we'll see a 7.3-2 kit soon.
